Decorating for Fall with Target
Here in Chicago, temperatures have already started to dip below 60. Overcast days are more common than sunny ones, and it’s become necessary to take a sweater or light jacket wherever you go. There’s no getting around it—Fall is here. So let’s decorate for it, shall we?

It should come as no surprise that it’s one of my favorite things to shop and decorate the house for the Fall season, bringing the outside in—so I was stoked when Target asked me to round up a few favorites from their Fall collection! There’s nothing like a good Target run, and searching their seasonal collection has become a favorite hobby of mine whenever I visit with my friends. Who doesn’t love snagging a few cute pieces to brighten things up a bit?
The key to decorating for me? Versatility. I love finding pieces that can work in different areas of my apartment, depending on how my needs or moods change. I’m including photos from two different setups to help you envision where you might be able to switch things up in your home! This post contains affiliate links :)
The first piece that caught my eye was this cute Wooden Vase, which is sure to make a few appearances on Instagram before the season is over. I added some dried greenery I already had at home—along with these Banksia Hookeriana and this Dried Achillea Bunch from Target—to make a sustainable bouquet that will last as long as I want it to.
The key to being cozy during this time is, well, adding all of those perfectly cozy textures; so I had to have this Cable Knit Chenille Pillow that’s basically a blanket—and y'all, it is SO soft! I can already picture curling up with some popcorn and a good movie with this cutie!
Another feature of my apartment design is warm, golden lighting. I have floor to ceiling windows that give lots of light throughout the day, so when evening rolls around I like to transition to something more low key, and keep it on the moody side of things. This Valencia Brass Task Lamp was the perfect addition, adding a dusky glow when it’s time to pick a new record or catch up on my reading. It’s also touch controlled, which is an amazing feature I forgot I needed.
Last but not least, you can’t forget the Fall candle! The right (or wrong) scent profile can make or break a space, and is a huge part of how we experience a room. I kept it classic with this Whiskey + Oak in a gorgeous amber colored jar, which you can easily up-cycle into a planter when you’re done! I’m also a big fn of the Leather + Embers scent. The 14oz fills up my apartment really well, and the crackling wooden wicks are a fun addition as well.
